On average 80% of wha the average person spends on health care over their entire lifespan is spent during the last 2 years of their lifeā¦ and the overwhelming majority of Americans live to be of an age where their last 2 years are when they are on Medicare.
Those other things are part of the system but not remotely match anywhere close to the spending Medicare does per year. Medicare is the elephant, everything else in the room is no bigger than a small dog.
