“...Too bad though, Russia won’t permit that...”
Russia has no say. It is so incompetent that it cannot go to battle successfully with any country larger than the Republic of Georgia. It has thrown away a third of a million men just to weaken itself, strengthen Ukraine, and drive previously neutral countries into defensive alliances due to its propensity for criminal invasions and war crimes. Ukraine will not give up its land no matter how long it takes to drive out the evil invaders.
About seven million Jews, two million Arabs, and half a million people of other ethnicities.
With that said, Israel doesn't even contain half of the world's total Jewish population.
My point is that when Jews of various stripes have more nuanced opinions about Israel than is usually found here on FR, one can conclude that it's possible to criticize our foreign policy regarding Israel without animus against Jews being the primary motivation.
Indeed. I support Israel in as much as our interests coincide. If they want to use our money to kill muslims I have no real problem with that, since muslims are a plague wherever are anywhere on the planet. However, we should look at our own interests first before just blindly throwing our support behind any nation, including Israel.
There appear to be a lot of long knives out for Tucker, since he doesn't support the aims of the Deep State. I'll not agree with everything he says, but am glad he's there to say it.
The deranged loons in question (Tucker, McGregor, Janssen, Ritter) had no effect on Trump’s foreign policy whatsoever, thankfully. And they won’t next time around either. Which is why Trump will continue to be the most pro-Israel President in our history. So sad for you. Lol.
If you are anti-Israel you are and anti-Semite was the point.
Is that so?
1) Is a Jew who criticizes Israel (for whatever reason) therefore anti-Semitic?
2) You can criticize America's foreign policy regarding Israel without being "anti-Israel". (Especially if you think America's particular methodology as it stands is counterproductive to the long-term stability of a Jewish state.)
3) This may simply be a play on linguistics, but I find it ironic that "anti-Semite" has come to exclusively mean "anti-Jew", even though the Arabs also descend from the lineage of Shem.
4) Israel serving as the global proxy for Judaism seems rather counterproductive when they also brand and market themselves as pro-secular and very libertine when it comes to LGBT "rights" in one of the most traditionally-minded corners of the world.
5) I'm sure there are plenty of American servicemen who wish all the best for the Jews who nonetheless despise Israel for stuff like the USS Liberty incident.
Sometimes I have liked Tucker, and sometimes found his positions strange and unexplainable; and strange souces he may use might be the explanation.
I blame the Romans. Pilate’s wife even told him to let Him go. He bowed to politically driven so-called popular opinion manufactured by a few of Herod’s cronies.
Wow! Good analysis.
And seriously, that is the number one thing missing in every thread on the Ukraine war since it began. Not just take a side and go with it, but rather a real deep analysis on what’s going on, and, what you call “a genuine strategist’s sense of the uncertain nature of information and strategic choices in an ongoing conflict”. Everything becomes Zeepers, Putin puffers, WEF globohomos, RuZZians and other 8th grade retarded nonsense and insults.
All I know about the war is where it is at: Stalemate. Russian cannot finish off Ukraine and Ukraine can’t get their occupied territories back. Just ceasefire for the sake of the dead yet to be killed! What strategic result will occur if the fighting continues?
I’m retired enlisted military who worked in the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, among other places. I was far from in charge (!) but watched what went on and what was analyzed.
Everything was then about strategy and concepts and tactics. What worked? What didn’t? Where’s the analysis on the effects of drones in warfare? Anti-tank weapons? MANPADS keeping the air forces out of the battlefield? How does that effect the American principle of the Air-Land battle?
There’s so much to review but everyone gets wrapped up in stupid, visceral name calling.
I blame social media.
Seriously: instant reaction, instant (supposedly) accountability, instant takes. Going viral gets you recognized, and gets you social credit. War in a faraway land becomes more about managing public perception in online spaces than actually dealing with boring 'trivialities' like logistics, funding, and geopolitical ramifications. After all, if you get clout online, you can have an outsized effect on political representatives who are inherently sensitive to PR as a rule of thumb.
This is how we ended up with naval officers tweeting whilst in the middle of an active conflict zone.
Trust no agendas. I stick with FR, and always have.
Typically, I do too. Unfortunately, so many on this site are completely brainwashed on the Israel front.
I am MAGA / America first / Christian
Israel doesn't fit into that equation any more than Saudi Arabia or Ukraine does.
Broadly, the Russia-Ukraine conflict seems similar to WW I, with the war on the decisive western front stalemated. Nevertheless, US entry shifted the balance due to fresh troops, financing, and new weapons. Eventually, Germany's economy cracked, a peace was arranged when her troops started to retreat, and the country went into civil disorder.
In the long run, Russia does not have the economic strength to prevail -- assuming that the US, NATO, and Ukraine continue their effort.
"The Soviet-East German military alliance has thus emerged as the backbone of the Warsaw Pact, and in the context of political uncertainty elsewhere in the Eastern bloc, an enlarged military and political role in Soviet security policy for the East German state seems inevitable.".
It seems the only thing that is "inevitable" is Mr Macgregor being wrong...
Mearsheimer is very anti-Israel and has been for decades. He will never change.
Lol
You are simply pointing out facts
But thin skinned tribe(a few) and dispies will smear you for it
Free republic has always been this way
The dispies are worse since 10-7
You are all in with zero detail or nuance
Or you’re a Jew hater
Part of this is the natural tenor of the average poster here
Old
Grumpy
Well intended but not well informed
Loves to scold
Likes life like steak, medium rare no seasoning and baked potato maybe butter
Keep it simple
You want detail you’re not bonafide
PS Jews have some justification for being anti pluralist etc I can’t deny that …they have been targeted a lot by their host nations but it seems like a dog chasing it’s tail now
“Read the posts about his show here.”
So in other words, you don’t actually watch Tucker but simply base your accusations on what others post here.
Which would make sense judging from the content of what you post.
To be fair, few people expected the Soviet Union to actually collapse in the way it did.
By the time his book was published, anyone with a clue knew that things were falling apart in East Germany. The writing was on the wall (pun intended) in 1988, but Macgregor was mesmerized with Soviet glory. He still is...
