“I’m confused...

Is it Texas National Guard? Or Texas Military Department?

Both have been discussed as being used to defend the Texas border, but I thought Abbott was relying on the (not Federal) Texas Military Department. The big difference being that Biden could activate the Texas NG to follow Federal orders as opposed to the Texas MD is only state-run.

Did I not see Texas Military Department employment opportunities posted here yesterday? I was polishing up my resumé.”

I think both departments are there now. It was the Texas Military that was advertising positions.

The sum of the Texas "military department" is the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard and the State Guard. Had a Navy and Marine Corps during time as a Republic. The Rangers were in it until the 1930's when they were switched over to the DPS.
