NEW YORK — A federal jury ordered former President Trump to pay $83.3 million for defaming E. Jean Carroll when Trump in 2019 denied the longtime advice columnist’s accusation that he sexually assaulted her decades earlier.
It marks the second time Carroll has won damages from Trump at trial, with the new total adding to a $5 million verdict last year finding Trump liable for sexually abusing Carroll and defaming her over a separate comment.
Carroll’s latest trial became intertwined with the heat of the early primary contests, beginning the day after Trump’s historic win in the Iowa caucuses and proceeding past the New Hampshire primary, when Trump further cemented his status as the indisputable Republican front-runner.

Every time I hear a news report discussing the jury of his peers I can’t help but laugh. I doubt there’s a single member of that jury that anyone with half of mine would consider a peer to Donald Trump.

Trump’s only peers are the Men who have held the Presidency.
It’s a very Small Club.
She chose to become a public figure among Americans in general.
She made an accusation against Trump that short of video footage has led millions to have a highly negative opinion of her.
I won’t say what I think of her for obvious reason, but I do ask you to think of what you think of her.
She chose not to pursue the matter on a timely basis IMO. A woman knowledgeable about the ‘rag’ trade should know that the department store would have had video footage evidencing such an encounter IMO.
A lawyer, of which there are many in NYC, could have secured the footage, as could the police. Contacting the police alone would almost certainly have secured the footage.
You are exactly correct, the judges and juries in DC and NY are corrupt, stupid biased and otherwise political. If we have a civil war, it will be in a large part caused by people like those in this jury and the biased, corrupt judge that “presided” over this outrage.
Patriots don’t recognize judgments from communist kangaroo courts in New York City.

Donald Trump should pull an Al Sharpton stunt. In that case Al Sharpton,The Racist from Ney York City and Big mouth commentator on MSNBC was sued by some Ney York City Detectives for defaming them. Sharpton lost the case and he was ordered to pay the Detectives a significant amount of bucks.
Well Guess what? Sharpton didn’t pay them one dime in over ten years as I recall. Nothing was ever done at the time.
I haven’t researched to see if he finally paid what he owed.

It wouldn’t be there this quickly. She would get it when and as Trump may ultimately fail in his appeals.
Giuliani was forced into Chapter 11 by the refusal of the court to stay his civil verdict pending appeal. Same could happen to Trump if Carrol is given the authority to seize Mar-a-Lago or other assets.
hopefully Trump can use campaign funds to help pay for this travesty. Candidates can raise a billion running for president.
We didn't even have to fight. All we had to do was make our money count when we had choices.
But we couldn't even do that, while the leftists did. Is it any wonder it's almost impossible to find a company that hasn't gone woke? They don't want to lose the business by offending the left, but they know they have nothing to fear about offending us. Now, good luck finding a company that doesn't pander to the left.

Someone this morning told me if he appeals, he has to set aside the money in a separate account until final verdict. That doesn’t sound right.
His lawyers could have tossed some of them and put some trumpers on the jury. They didn’t seem too.
He has to post a bond of 120% of the judgment amount, which comes to just under 100 million. It’s required under the law.
