They have the right to be independent.. so did south Carolina and a few other states.Thats when lincoln said “ like hell you do”.
My family left Mexico-and the oppressive Spanish govt-before 1800 to live on what was the frontier/frontera-West Texas and NM-like all Tejanos, they fought being told what to do by Spain and their govt in Mexico, and won in 1821. and by the 1820’s they were joined by settlers from some Southern States and Germany who didn’t like the govt in Mexico either. So they got together, fought Mexico and won in 1836. You still don’t tell Tejanos what to do-we really don’t like it-we tend to fight back and like to win.
