Both sides are intractable. They each want the same thing, the annihilation of the other side.

So untrue.
Israelis want peace, not murder.

Annihilation of Hamas is Deus Vult. I stand with Israel.

RE: Both sides are intractable. They each want the same thing, the annihilation of the other side.
Have to disagree. The naive Israelis from the beginning have allowed full political participation, voting and legislative seats and power in their Knesset to be held by Arabs and self-loathing Jews who want the State of Israel ended. Also allow education, business and restaurant ownership and freedom to live where the Arabs wish.
Arab states allow no rights or legislative seats to Israeli Jews. None. Set up a kosher restaurant in Iran or Syria or United Arab Emirates owned by Jews? No way.
If Israel had really wanted to obliterate the enemies who surround them they could have done so but did not.
If you mean eliminating the power base of Hamas and ISIS, then yes, they want that, like the US vs. enemies and all the countries like Russia, China and the others want to protect themselves against their enemies. The October slaughter of Jews in Israel was “Israel’s 9/11” and they, like us, are not cheery about permitting another one.

Both sides are intractable. They each want the same thing, the annihilation of the other side. WRONG!
One side wants to live in peace and has been trying to for decades.

Arab states need to move the 'Palestinian' people to a newly created country surrounded by Arab States.
Hamas makes the rest of the Arab world look like out of control lunatics. Move the Palestinians to a new location - away from Israel, away from Israel's first world democracy and modern ways. Arab States can donate land and the rest of the world can chip in to help.

“Both sides are intractable.”
Well that’s correct. Hamas wants to destroy Israel and murder all of its people and will not compromise on those goals, whereas Israel absolutely will not compromise on its goal of maintaining not just nationhood, but a safe nation for its populace.
“They each want the same thing, the annihilation of the other side.”
This is where you are dead wrong. Israel wants to live in peace, whereas Hamas (and many other Arabs, Moslems and political groups in those groups) want to destroy Israel and murder all of its people (if not also all Jews everywhere else). There is ABSOLUTELY no comparison between the two parties on this point. Israel has offered one or another kind of peace deal dozens of times over the last 75+ years (its pre-state political leaders even did so before it came into existence), only to be rejected each and every time, with the exception of Egypt and Jordan agreeing to VERY limited, US-brokered, peace deals that gave them lots of money, weapons and security guarantees in return for just leaving Israel alone - which they should have done in the first place, without the very expensive bribes.
Again, you are dead wrong.
