I think it is a strategy to get someone who supports Trump to react violently. There would be another ready to catch the reaction on video which would be used to attack the reputation of Trump's supporters. The person reacting would be hit with assault charges and lawsuits. The media would spend the 24-hr news cycle showing the video and the likes of Rachel Maddow would be stirring her pot saying "Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble."
