The NAACP began calling it the "Negro national anthem" in 1917.
We all know it's not being sung at the Superbowl because it's a godly song. In fact, if that's all it was, it would never be allowed to be sung during an NFL game because it might offend the godless in this country.
It's being promoted as, and sung as, the "Black National Anthem."
