I like reading Thomas’ opinions. He rarely descends to the blatant illogical positions of some of the reliably liberal side of the court. I would wish that be not give quite so much deference to the more authoritarian aspects of government and the police, but overall, he’s been a major plus on the side of liberty. Still wish we had Scalia around to provide some biting snarkiness, but we can’t have everything. For the Bruin decision alone, he should be in the hall of fame.
