A United States Air Force fighter pilot training to be a Top Gun has been crowned Miss America.
Madison Marsh, 22, who comes from Fort Smith, Arkansas, won the top award at a ceremony in Orlando, Florida on Sunday night.
Second Lt Marsh was crowned Miss Colorado in May 2023 before competing in the finals to scoop the top award. Marsh is the first active duty officer from any branch of the military to represent at the national level of the Miss America organization.
This year's runner-up is Miss Texas, Ellie Breaux who would be called to step in if Marsh is unable to complete a full year of service.
Miss Indiana Cydney Bridges came third, Miss Kentucky Mallory Hudson placed fourth while Miss Rhode Island Caroline Parente came fifth.
Fifty-one contestants participated in the event, representing all 50 US states, as well as the District of Columbia.

I saw a YouTube video a month or two ago about a tank crew in southern Israel entirely comprised of women. They were some of the first IDF forces to respond to the October 7th Hamas infiltration.
They stated that they “neutralized” many Hamas terrorists on that day.
The only thing negative I saw in the video is that in addition to the flag of Israel on their tank they also were flying the multi colored rainbow flag of the Alphabet people(as Dave Chappell calls them).
This was obviously a great Israel propaganda piece. I wondered how the Hamas terrorists felt about being killed by Gay Woman IDF soldiers.
Infantry and tank crews are normally subject to capture.
Fighter pilots might defend areas where even if they get shot down they would stand little chance of being captured.
Think of the fighter jets sent into the air on 9/11.
Sometimes its just easier to give credit where it is due too. I have worked with some women enlisted and officer, in the USAF, that were total professionals. I CAN happen.
Winning the Miss America pageant comes with a lot of appearances. She will be wearing the crown at lots of engagements for the next year around the country. Maybe even around the world. I suspect she will have to limit her aircraft training for a little while.
Her Masters degree is probably mostly on line.
Well, considering she got her pilot's license at 17, she's a pilot.
And was almost certainly flying during her 4 years at the AFA. And the 'familiarization ride' she was shown on is normally a prequel for AF flight training.
She's A Pilot.
She’s White and a real woman, not a tranny?
Lefty heads must be exploding (hopefully so).
Pageant organizers pretending to respect American “values” to keep their paydays going. Winner seems to be very accomplished and best wishes to her.
That is an extinct, archaic, and sexist term at the FAA. Effective December 2, 2021, FAA Order 7930.2S, Change 2, “Notices to Air Missions (NOTAM)” became the more inclusive "Notice to Air Missions.” How pathetic is that? If the Air Force is serious about equity, they need to abolish "Airman."
Oh, I agree. But the key term here is "rarely," not "never."
And "so what?" That means you can make a tighter turn in a dogfight. You know, that thing fighter planes sometimes do? If you don't comprehend that, then future debate is futile.
Ditz. You have it, or don’t.
It has already happened. Remember the female Army soldiers who got captured in Iraq and were shown by the Iraqis? Jessica Lynch and Shoshana Johnson. Lori Piestewa in the same incident was killed.
Oh, and I’ll take the word of the Israeli airforce over you — unless you have airforce creds you have not shared.
Nobody is perfect.
That is one amongst many other reasons women do NOT belong in ground combat. Others include strength, endurance, and reflexes.
That said, male captives are also often sexually assaulted by the jihadist scum.
“It CAN happen.”
Yes, of course it can happen. But, like everything the woke ruin, it becomes highly suspicious regardless of whether favoritism was shown or she earned it on merit. It’s just like Affirmative Action. You can’t help but asking “Why was that guy or gal hired?” Once you start down the road of favoritism, EVERYTHING is suspect. It hurts the truly accomplished people even more because regardless of their hard work and achievement, they are suspects.
I think she will, wisely, pursue non military avenues.
Her Masters is Public Policy. She does have an AFA BS in Physics.
Opportunities are a plenty for her.
I don’t remember anyone looking like her in my ChemE classes…
“There are women who could and would fight.” You must be referring to the All American First Cavalry Amazon Battalion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahPwlOOKedg
What else do fighter pilots do?
A 2nd Lieutenant in US Armed Forces, specifically the Marine Corps. "Butterbar", a reference to the gold bar rank insignia worn on the uniform, is a term generally used in a condescending or patronizing manner towards a boot lieutanant that thinks he knows everything, yet couldn't lead the way out of his own ass with a map and flashlight. After completing OCS (Officer Candidate School) and TBS (The Basic School) a large number of newly minted butter bars tend to think that they are Chesty Puller and General Patton reincarnated and have the belief that after months of schooling they know much more than enlisted Marines that have been doing the job much longer.
