Lead Republican Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) worked with his colleagues to craft a border compromise to enable passage of tens of billions of dollars in foreign aid, including to Ukrainians to prolong their war with Russia that has been at a stalemate for months.
According to the Immigration Accountability Project, the proposed Senate deal would:
Increase green cards by 50,000/year Work permits for adult children of H-1B holders
Immediate work permits to every illegal alien released from custody
Taxpayer-funded lawyers to certain UACs and mentally incompetent aliens
Expulsion authority for a limited number of days only if encounters exceed 5K/day over a seven-day period
Restrict parole for those who enter without authorization between ports of entry

Now we see the end result.
Suffice to say, one will be voting for whomever primaries him in... (looking it up) 2028.
He is slime.
Since Lankford is a super religious guy, I wondered what type of blackmail the Democrats could possibly have on him. Then I realized it could be something most folks would think of as a mere peccadillo such as pics of him downing a few beers. That wouldn't work on a normal person such as me (ok, maybe not so normal) since I would call those cruise pics posted by myself of me having a few too many but for Lankford, he might find such pics as shameful.
Otherwise I can't think of what the Democrats would have on Lankford to cause him to back such an INSANE proposal.
Lankford, OTOH, is a total Republican whore and always has been.
Honestly, her stock went way up when she organized that Friday afternoon meeting about COVID and the mRNA jabs.
Knowing the GOP he’ll probably be the next Mitch.
That would be an example of a Rumsfeldian "Known Unknown", something that right now is left to speculation with the limits of the information at hand. So it's the right question to ax, but we don't know the answer. It's an unknown and we know that we don't know.
Hey! Do you know, that James Lankford's claim to fame among the Oklahoma Baptists that got him elected to the State House to begin with is that from 1996 to 2009 he was President of "the Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center, a youth camp operated by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma"?
People who grew up in Oklahoma are familiar with Falls Creek as a beautiful, scenic, coeducational place where teenagers go to spend a few weeks in the summer to have a spiritual reformation...
Just a trivia note. But back to your original question... "We don't know, and we know that we don't know."
Not unbelievable. He’s clearly pushing Chamber of Commerce agenda items. I’m not surprised.
………………………………………………………………………………………………
Wow.... I’ll have to admit that I don’t know what this has to do with the Chamber......what am I missing ?? Thanks..

The C of C is all in for ALL aspects of the CHEAP LABOR EXPRESS. The Senate proposal (which I hope is DOA) has a number of them.
Hmmmm..... I am beginning to see vague outlines on what the Democrats could have on Lankford and it appears that pics of him kicking back a few brewskis would be minor.
One never said, for example, that he might have knocked someone up or anything lascivious like that.
Lankford is part of the Jan 6 cabal. He was ready to speak when the fake “insurrection” occurred. Afterwards he made didn’t expose the fraud as he supposedly was about to do.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I couldn’t find anything regarding that. I’ll keep searching.
My wife suspects he’s been threatened. Remember, 3 letter agencies are experts in identifying people’s hot-buttons and manipulating them accordingly.
Except it would be unconstitutional. But an interesting thought.
Good for Johnson, but does anyone besides Trump and a handful of Senators really want to fight for America?
We’re dying here! The patient is on life support with very little brain function. Time to wake up and reclaim our Republic.
So is his running buddy in the senate.
Repeal the 17th Amendment!
The Senate worked fine up until the passing of the 17th Amendment. The 17th made a senator nothing more than a House member-at-large for his\her state. In doing that it brought in House-style partisan politics. The House was always supposed to have unruly partisan politics, that’s why the two-year term. For the Senate prior to the 17th there would be enough state legislators and state grandees to keep it competitive. If not also pass term limits for both Houses. However, shortening the Senate term:
a) Violates the intent and wisdom of the Founding Fathers,
The Senate was supposed to be the voice of the state in national policy. Also, it was supposed to be more deliberative. The six-year term allowed that. The 1/3 up for re-election every two years allows continuity with a certain amount of change. Shortening to four years will disrupt all of that!
b) It will also make the problem worse in the long run, it will increase the already over-the-top rancorous partisan behavior. Why? Because it will move their elections closer together which means more partisan behavior (Not less!) and it will increase the need for raising more money.
c) Kill off the last vestiges of our republican structure.
Make us even more of a Mob-ocracy!
Did you take basic US Civics in high school?
It would not even get past a Senate filibuster.
It’s a Democrat plan. Total surrender.
I *know* Oklahoma can send a better Senator to Washington than Lankford! I’m an Okie myself. I wish Senators still served at the pleasure of the State Legislatures. The Oklahoma Legislature could recall that puppet of big business and globalists if not for the 17th Amendment. Oh, well: now it’s up to us Okies to “primary” (or “Cantorize”) Lankford...
Absolutely. She’s a pit bull!
ok, except work permits are essential to keep peace. without being able to work, these people will turn to crime
the rest is crapola
