There was a sniper’s memoir in the 1990s in which the author said he saved many millions of dollars in US taxpayer money by killing terrorists himself as opposed to the missiles fired from ships which sometimes hit but mostly missed targets. Such as “terrorist leader was believed to be in that compound but wasn’t.” I remember that when they total up the millions.
