The Midwest and the Great Lakes regions will have some of the hottest housing markets in the U.S. this year, according to Zillow.
The real estate marketplace predicted Buffalo, N.Y., to be the “nation’s hottest housing market in 2024,” with Cincinnati; Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis; and Providence, R.I., rounding out the top five.
“These should stand out as strong in a housing market still buffeted by low inventory and relatively high mortgage rates and prices,” Zillow added in its report released last week.
Other cities included in Zillow’s top 10 projected hottest housing markets for 2024 include Atlanta; Charlotte, N.C.; Cleveland, Orlando, Fla.; and Tampa, Fla.

Odd, seems Kalifornia’s not on the list - - no blue state hellhole cities are destinations? Odd. /s
IOW, life below zero.
I grew up in suburbs of Utica, Ithaca, and Syracuse. It was a nice place as a kid. I still remember a lot of the NYS history taught in 7th and 8th grades, back when we were proud of it. But I never realized it was the cloudiest part of the country. We used to visit my Mom’s folks in Idaho and Dad’s brother and family in Idaho on LONG road trips. That’s when I learned parts of the country get lots of sunshine, have majestic mountains and have wide open spaces.
Jobs honestly.
A lot of manufacturing tech is based in both those towns.
Providence, R.I is like Boston but with twice the meth and four times the filth.
I guess the people at Zillow haven’t seen what is going on in Texas cities and surrounding counties.
Have you seen the Sabres in the past 10 years? They are a dumpster fire on ice.
I know people from New Hartford, NY.
I lived in Lansing, NY for three years before we moved to Orchard Park, NY.
I lived in Syracuse during college at SUNY ESF/SU for two years.
The weather all around those Great Lakes is gray and overcast all the time. A buddy’s wife is from Green Bay. He calls it Green Blaw because every time he visits it is grey and cloudy.
The worst weather is really around Syracuse up to Watertown. Oswego, NY was the absolute worst of any place.
When we saw the sun at all, it was a partly cloudy day. We never once saw a cloudless sky. And it was rate to see any sun all day long. You might get a few hours of partly cloudy skies, but then the clouds moved in again.I lived in the area 15 years.
This is what happens when you let investment companies buy single family homes.
They go into low dollar markets, and buy up homes to drive up prices... they will pay more than they are worth, drive up the market, and then flip them... no local would ever do that, because A they don’t have enough cash to buy enough homes over value to affect the market price... but large hedge funds do... and they have no qualms doing it.
They should be going to jail for this crap
At least Rhode Island has Narragansett Bay. Literally one of the best sailing/boating bodies of water in the world.
Because the weather people and politics are so nice 🤪

Think y’all could make room for 1 good old boy from the south?
Sure! C’mon up! It can get COLD, though.
I enjoy going to the beach at Christmas time and calling all my peeps that are fighting a blizzard.
Spent sometime in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho I love the mountains. Being from Florida we have no mountains and it’s always green. It’s 70* now.
“ It’s 70* now”
I’m sold! Our Idaho neighbors and friends just departed for their place in Naples. We may be going to visit them.
Just letting you know we had a cold front last night and it’s freezing this morning it’s probably 65* and overcast.
You gonna have to pack some extra clothes like shoes and shirts. Don’t worry, we’ll be back to shorts and flip flops by Friday. You’ll love the sunsets over there and the space station will be crossing the sky @6:54 Friday night.
Hope you enjoy Naples I’m 2 hrs east of there.
