It’s a real word but it is used incorrectly. People should not rely on spell check to write their articles if they get paid as writers.

Tortious is a word I have never seen before.The root is tortoise I believe, meaning a slow mover and hard headed ( like a shell) or stubborn.

The word in the original article is TORTUOUS not tortious. It means having many twists and turns. Austin had a tortuous week.
