Who remembers the Bush Doctrine? It supposedly declared open-season on terrorists. No sanctuary. Also, the Global War on Terror will not be won in a short time.
Kind of funny that on the 60th anniversary of the start of “War on Poverty”, Poverty seems to be winning (unless we spend several trillion dollars more).
The West no longer engages in ‘total war’, that’s why we do not win wars any longer...
Unfortunately, wars must be fought in such a way your opponent begs for mercy and then you’ve totally destroyed their will to fight and peace can be achieved.
