“Illegal drug use would likely be a violation of federal policies”
I’d rather see a wholesale drug-user sweep of the federal workforce before I’d worry about a civilian user. And I am violently anti-drug.
Hmmmm....I wonder if they tested all the 2 million Federal workers for illegal drug use, what they’d find....and do about it....hmmmmm.
I agree. When I retired from the Marine Corps, I had a top secret clearance (TS). I got a job in the Federal service and my boss told me to not let my TS lapse, because I was the only person in that department that had one and every now and again they needed someone to read the TS message board. Several years later, I moved to another part of the government and they wanted me to have a Secret clearance, so hiring me was really easy. What caught me off guard was that I never had to get a piss test after I left the Marine Corps, even though I had a TS and later a secret clearance. I asked my boss how would I be notified for a piss test (email, phone call, etc...). My boss laughed and told me that in her experience they never piss tested civilians. Her thoughts were that they were scared that too many people would pop positive.
I hope you hide all your weapons if you need to take an aspirin or drink that cup of coffee.
