I’m so old I remember when the Wall Street journal wasn’t a transparent political hack.
They began the descent when images were not stippled. Then came ‘standard’ page width. I got a call asking why I didn’t renew a subscription. Stating ‘It’s not the same paper’ the response was ‘of course it is’. The NY Times was once great.
The Journal crossword was still good last I checked.
