U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn, a nine-term congressman representing the Colorado Springs area, will not run for reelection in November — an announcement that means all three Republican-held seats in Colorado’s congressional delegation will have open races this year.
Lamborn revealed his plans Friday morning on Richard Randall’s radio show on southern Colorado’s KVOR-AM.
“I’m not getting any younger,” the 69-year-old said. “I want to spend time with my children, grandchildren, with my wife. I want to look for opportunities to do good.”
An attorney, Lamborn previously served in the Colorado House and Senate before first winning election to Congress in 2006. He represents the state’s 5th Congressional District in and around Colorado Springs, one of the Front Range’s few remaining conservative bastions.

Another old Boehner Boy gone!
Trump needs to make some endorsements in the primaries so we don’t wind up with more evil RINO Bush loving turds!
money talks & BS walks
“Another old Boehner Boy gone!”
He was going to lose to the democrats anyhow. So will the replacement GOP candidate.
Colorado is now dead for the GOP...
18 years in Congress and didn’t make a wave. Adios.
Old Doug lined his pockets now he’s dumping all the problems he ignored on someone else...what a loser. GOP needs better leadership,,,,dump McDaniel.
Colorado is now dead for the GOP..."
The bolded is wrong.
The STATE is dead; that hardly means every congressional district is too. This is an R+9 district and should be easily held and CD-4 will be VERY easily held by the GOP. CD-3 is only "leaning" towards the GOP because the Democrat candidate has billions of dollars (slight exaggeration) to spend.
In the end, the GOP should keep the same 3 districts they have now and also have a decent chance at picking up CD-8 which is held by an ultra-liberal freshman Rat.
Only in his final term has he entered "squish" territory, assuming that anything below 90% conservative is considered to be dangerously radical.
Doug Lamborn's bio, election results and voting record
No matter what source you use, thorough or otherwise, there's still more to a Congressman's record than how he votes. Ken Buck provides an excellent example (conservative voting record but, lately, lunatic tendencies).
But insofar as voting record matters, which it does (a lot), more data is always better than less.
The Ca rats took Co. it’s done.
The UniParty prepping seats for Dems in the event of the next Trump administration
I lived there. My next door just moved from there. He said it is done, it has now been infiltrated.
BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you’re referring to CD-5 (Lamborn’s district) I don’t doubt that it’s trending to the left — though not all that quickly — and I also don’t doubt that Democrats THINK they have a decent chance there. Nor is there any doubt that the Colorado Springs area is being heavily invaded by undesirables.
But the district *IS* still R+9 at this moment, Republican voters *DO* still outnumber Democrats by a sizable margin — although “independents” outnumber them both, which is very, very common in Colorado.
If the Republicans start losing R+9 districts and ones where they have substantial registration advantages, then we are in serious trouble. But in 2024, in this district, that’s almost certainly not the case. By 2028.... then maybe.
CO all mail in ballots=solid blue state.

do you suppose Tim Gill of Gill Foundation chipped in to Lamborn’s early retirement?
has Gill ever donated to Lamborn’s past campaigns?
************************
background on Gill supporting DS/Dem causes:
“The next highest donation to Media Matters came from the Gill Foundation, which contributed nearly $3 million, according to the form. The foundation is run by tech entrepreneur and gay rights activist Tim Gill, a major power player in Colorado Democratic politics.”
That’s nice.
Nobody questions the control the Democrats have at the STATE level in Colorado.
This is a congressional district election, not a statewide election.
No matter how the votes come in, it doesn’t mean that Democrats win ALL of those district elections. Republicans won 3 of 8 CDs in 2022 and they will very likely win 3 of 8 in 2024 — perhaps even 4 of 8 but don’t hold your breath on that 4th one.
“Colorado is now dead for the GOP...”
We have been overrun by coastal migrants and they’re bringing their dependent vermin with them. They’re building new condos and apartments on every square inch of property in my town. It used to be nice here. No more.
Could Boebert run here?
All these GOP politicians just dragging up all over the place… what does the RNC/FBI have on all these folks?
Agree. Massie and Amash were pretty “conservative” and useless as far as MAGA reform goes.
