Exclusive — Donald Trump: Who Gets Vice Presidential Nod ‘Has Never Made a Difference’ in Election Outcome
breitbart ^ | 1/4/2024 | MATTHEW BOYLE and ALEXANDER MARLOW4

Former President Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner for president in 2024, told Breitbart News exclusively during a two-hour-plus interview at Mar-a-Lago last week that the person who gets the nod for vice president will not make much difference in the grand scheme of things regarding winning the election.

“If you study the history of presidential runs, a vice president has never made a difference—which is surprising,” Trump said. “It’s a one-night story, and then they’re back to a regular evening. They’re voting for the president. They’re not voting for the vice president. There has, not that I can think of, never been a vice president that’s made much of a difference in terms of nomination and in terms of even winning the election.”

While Trump did not get into specifically whom he would pick if he wins the nomination as expected or a timeline for an eventual decision, he did say that Republicans have a deep bench, and lots of people would be good choices.

Remember when the Dems bailed on Eagleton? That was fun. Or when Agnew went down? Not as much.

You are SO correct. Pence was a colossal disappointment as VP.

All due respect but I disagree. I’ve lived in Texas for the last ten years and followed this very closely. He can effectively close it. Screw D C . Get it done. We have the resources. All he’s done is sent a few dozen busloads of illegals to various cities in a high profile way which is nothing short of a political game. If Trump were Governor of Texas we wouldn’t have a problem. Abbot on the ticket would be a mistake. The dire situation absolutely requires someone who’s not afraid of taking their gloves off.

Rand Paul also certified a fraudulent election, so no.

I’d take anyone on you “can’t be” list except Nikki or Tulsi.

As for DeSantis - no. He should be supporting Trump, who won in 2020 - running against him shows he thinks Biden won fair and square - that makes him no better than Pence in my book.

Trump wasn’t a Governor and he did just fine.

DeSantis is a non starter.. just as all the Establishment buffoons currently running are.

They are all owned by the Cheney globalist money men, and not a damned one of them should be a heartbeat from the Presidency.

Looks like Bobby could be even worse than Donald at picking a running mate:

I agree. But he’s correct otherwise. And only 3 VPs won after the prez left.

6 became prez due to death. 1 resignation.

Less chance with a Senator.
