There are some vestiges of the company left, and they still make some film. At one time Kodak employed 60,000 people in rochester. Last I knew that figure stood at a couple thousand.

My wife had two cousins who lived in Webster, next door to Rochester. One was a nurse at Kodak, and her husband a technician. They had a very nice life. The other was an executive with Xerox, and his wife's father was one of the largest home builders in the area. They had a wonderful house and a lot of toys. Sad to see what happened to the area since. The female cousin and husband retired about 20 years ago, and are in pretty good shape, living in Virginia. The male was a little younger and had to scramble some, but landed on his feet.
