Diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI, in higher education was deceptively sold as a set of policies designed to promote "the fair treatment and full participation of all people," particularly groups that "have historically been underrepresented." But DEI offices have proved to be epicenters of division and ideological conformity, stirring hostilities and imposing an intolerant monoculture.
Fortunately, 2023 saw more than a dozen states start to take action against the DEI hydra, with six achieving concrete steps that other states should follow.
In Florida, colleges and universities are no longer allowed to allocate any money to DEI programs. Institutions across the state have, in consequence, eliminated DEI jobs, such as chief diversity officers. This is greatly to the good of real education and social cohesion. These officers are often in charge of college "bias response teams" that function as "woke" police on campuses. A Supreme Court case is set to shut many of these programs down, but states can take proactive steps now to solve the problem faster.
Texas passed its law curbing excesses this year, eliminating all DEI office training for staff and, more importantly, eliminating diversity statements in hiring. Universities nationwide use mandatory diversity statements to enforce ideological conformity in disciplines as varied as physics, history, and psychology. Junking these loyalty oaths is a key step to diversifying thought on campuses.

The feminization (including homosexuals and soy boys) of society is the direct cause.
Call it for what it truly is, DIE.
They do work overtime to prevent anyone terming it DIE or correcting you if you do phrase it that way.
They want you gone.
Deceptively sold as a set of policies designed to promote “the fair treatment.
The MSM and democrat party are masters of pimping such programs it’s why the cities and towns are in chaos with drugged homeless camps sex altering ....................
At some point the public has to be stunned enough to get a grip on reality.
DEI is a euphemism for a device created to divide people by ideology under the pretext of promoting inclusiveness and unity. What we called the Holocaust was deemed the Final Solution by the Nazis. I never trust any organization with the words “peace” or “justice “ in their names; they’re almost always are fronts for fascist or other authoritarian agendas. DEI really stands for Divisiveness, Elitism and Indoctrination.
Division, Excrement and Incompetence.
The future generations are lost.
********
Hasn’t that been part of growth since the world began?
Things change, come and go be they good or bad. jmo
or - “...a boot stamping on a human face – for ever.”
Well, its never happened in history without pulling up stakes and conquering a new land. Where will the strong go this time?
Stop giving to schools with DEI programs.
Let’s use the last (2020) Census as our equality calculator.
Every organization in The USA - including, but limited to, sports - needs to adhere to this mix to ensure equality to all races:
White (non mixed) : 57.8%
Hispanic/Latino: 18.7%
Black/African American (non mixed): 12.1%
Other/Mixed: 11.4%
I suggest we start with the US Government employees and politicians, then move on to the NBA, WNBA, NFL, MLB....
These are the rantings of a poisoned brain.
Her ghetto-nurtured DEI was bought by elite Harvard.
No critical thinking there.
“This article is akin to someone telling the frog that the water in the pot is not really getting hotter.“
You nailed it. The small victories are little stones hitting a tank.
Be aware that my experience makes me a total cynic on these matters.
My only experience with DEI receding is with the total destruction of the infected institutions. Harvard is not going to “back off” DEI. They aren’t going to “decide” to go another way or “recover sanity.”
Money won’t make them change their notions. This is where they live and what they believe.
They have “faith” and would be crucified before they renounce it.
DEI practices directly violate civil rights laws. The lawsuits against companies need to continue.
DEI. A jobs program invented by useless AA college graduates. Look at the money involved with hating whitey. How else could racist jerks get a job providing absolutely zero value to a company or society?
Ha, ha, ha.
Yeah. And, for years the US had ceased being by any measure racist. But, then came Obama.
Mind, any organization will simply re=define words. Overt racism was changed into affirmative action.
FIRE Harvard Admissions—ALL of them!
Stop “crafting” entering classes based on DEI! Bring on the nerds!
Harvard classes were much better before DEI! So what if they were mostly white! I’m sick of seeing videos of black Harvard students spouting stupid inanities! And that was before “Hamas”!!
Let’s not celebrate too soon.
These roaches and termites are relentless. The fumigation has to be constant.
DIE is affirmative action and an attack on meritocracy on steroid and they’ve managed to institutionalize this abomination in all the major corporation and agencies. Until that gets dismantled we can’t declare victory.
And I don’t see that happening any time soon. They may temporarily tone down their aggressiveness, but they will still be there like termites destroying foundations.
It’s like cancer, you can operate and remove what ‘looks like cancer’, but it will be back unless you get it ALL out.
Some with DEI, you can remove the term, but as long as the people are still there, it ain’t going away.
Remember Whole Language Reading - a TOTALLY DISCREDITED system where kids would be given War and Peace in First Grade, have passages of it read to them, and then, somehow, be able to magically read anything after that (LOL). Well, it’s gone and replaced by “Sight Words”...which are NO DIFFERENT - somehow the shape of the word is supposed to teach kids to read. Really?
We think we win, but they stay in power, so they simply MORPH and buy themselves another 10+ years.
