That’s how I see it too. Is DeSantis so brain dead that he took that as a compliment?
I don’t think DeSanctus sees things objectively, limiting his political insticts.
23 days will be two years for the poster.
It’s not so much that they fear sarcasm or don’t get sarcasm - it’s even sillier than that:
They think that by quoting something Trump said sarcastically - but claiming it wasn’t sarcasm - they think they somehow have you in checkmate.
It’s embarrassing really - the trolls on FR all use this same ploy and no one is buying it - they come off as complete morons.
I recently went through this with BehindLiberalLines - it was like listening to a wounded cricket chirping the same dumb chirp over and over.
Do you happen to have an example or two of the Pinochet thing? I've been seeing references on X/Twitter to people promoting a fascist-style (or Franco-style) conservatism, and James Lindsay says he's worried about this trend, but I haven't actually seen anyone take that sort of stance.
Thank you for the link. The anti-Trump article doesn’t surprise me, but the replies are very disheartening.
The few in the FBI who are not in the election management or political supression business could transfer there or be part of the national park police.
DC is a fascinating place for tourists, historians and museum goers. The uninhabited areas around the museums, National Malls, government archives and monuments should be turned into a spectacular national park. The remainder should be retroceded to the state of Maryland just as the 31 square miles of the city and county of Alexandria was returned to Virginia in 1847.
You simply cannot tell when someone is employing dark humor.
I would have thought that my exchange will Billthedrill would have clued you in.
One thing that is NOT dark humor, is that there ARE examples of torture in America these days. The behavior of the authorities as regards the J6 prisoners cannot be described as anything less than torture.
I read the PDJT post...not seeing the sarcasm:

Also there is some D.C./”Trump nepotism” involved...here is the link for the new FBI building/“Vornado Realty Trust”/Jared Kushner/“swampiness”:

That is literally verbatim DNC/ DU/KoS talking points.
You trolls just never learn do you...
Whoooo daddy the trolls are out in force on this thread.
Desantis team up the amount you trolls are getting paid per post?
Is THAT where all his campaign cash was spent? Paying trolls like you to try and influence/disrupt Trump supporters?
Hint...we are laughing at you.
Carry on...while you can.
I mean, all you trolls hit this thread at the same time. Like a “swarm”...ALMOST like it’s coordinated.......
Oh wait, “swarm” wasn’t the word I was looking for...I believe that word is farm. Yeah, a troll farm.
LMAO....
Don’t be disheartened...these trolls have been doing this for a long time now...

Inside Troll Farms: The World of Networked Disinformation
October 28, 2021 by Marinel Mamac
The term “internet troll” has been around since the ‘80s and ‘90s to describe individuals who would derail conversations on Usenet with spam and harmful content. Far from the small, colorful, and incessantly happy animated creatures we’ve seen on the big screen, real-life trolls work to provoke and manipulate others, either for their own amusement or a specific political goal.
And as the internet grew over the past few decades, so did they.
Not just an angry acquaintance on Facebook or a Twitter user with an egg for a profile picture, trolling today has evolved into an elaborate, industrialized, and global art form, often coordinated in what we now know as troll farms.
These are sophisticated operations that involve groups of people whose job it has become to sow disinformation online in an effort to influence people and governments. Some work in physical offices, while others are paid on a per-day basis as freelancers. Together, workers in these farms amplify key messages, using fear and anger in order to encourage real users to engage and believe in them.

Yes, trolls have been around for a long time. (In fact, FR itself had some major issues with organized trolls and sock puppets back in its early days.)
But there’s a genuine danger that conservativism will morph into an ugly authoritarianism (much as liberalism has morphed into a self-hating and self-destructive woke DEI ideology that supports terrorism).
