On Wednesday’s broadcast of “CNN This Morning,” Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson responded to a question on an uptick in most violent crime categories in the city in 2023 by stating that homicides and shootings have fallen and money “for restoration and reparations” will help address the “cycle of violence” in the city.

I would not say so.... those who think that throwing “reparation” money at those born in America with dark skin, who have never been slaves nor lived in a country that legalized slavery during their lifetime will do anything to fix the social maladjustments primarily seen in America’s bigger inner cities are showing a stupidity of the highest degree. Expecting tax payers to foot the bill to pay “reparations” to others would only further divide already divided populations. Now, anyone who was actually enslaved should certainly be compensated by those who were directly involved in their enslavement would make sense - - however, paying for the sins of your forebearers should not stand!!
People who never owned slaves giving money to people who never were slaves in a state that never had slaves will solve Chicago’s violence problem. That’s heavy 3-D chess.
How much $$ in reparations will Oprah, Michael Jordon, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson, and all the other Black multimillionaires receive as a result of their Blackness and downtrodden status?
Officials who make such proposals must be driven out of office.

Dave Chapelle did a skit on reparations and it was hilarious and spot on. It showed how the money would be spent. One guy bought an 18 wheeler of menthol cigarettes with his money.
