According to Chicago’s ShotSpotter system, more than 170,500 rounds have been fired inside the city, year to date. That number does NOT include the 13,186 fired in the first few minutes of New Year’s Day.
The 170,500+ rounds resulted in 3,040 individuals being shot year to date, or an average of 56 rounds expended for each person shot, a hit rate of less than 1.8%.
Of the 3,040 people shot, 569 died, around 300 rounds expended for each fatality, or a mortality rate less than 0.33%.
When, on average, less than 2% of your shots end up on the paper, more range time is definitely needed.
Nothing to see there boys and girls, just another weekend in the combat zone, the free fire zone.
“Time I don’t understand
Children killing in the street
Dying for the color of red
Time there red and blue
Wash them in the ocean, make them clean
Maybe their mother won’t cry tonight.”
-Darius Rucker
