True. Sometimes I might go 50% on a pic that I want to fill the screen but that’s rare.
re the preview; the pic will render as the given percentage of the preview box so it will be smaller than when rendered on the thread. That means an image with low resolution might look clear in preview but fuzzy on the thread. Practice makes perfect!
Seeing the pic at the source should give an idea what size you want and what its resolution is. With the scroll wheel it can be resized at the source to see how it looks if enlarged.
