I agree that they shuold hold the Referendums.
However. One of the constants in Canada is that the rules for Quebec are different than for the rest of the country, especially Alberta. I suspect that any attempt to hold a referendum wil be declared illegal, and if they want to leave they will have to fight their way out.
(maybe the Canadian military being run down to zero by the Trudeau’s wil finally be an advantage)
An early test case will be the Canada Pension Plan, which is roughly equivalent to Social Security.
In Quebec, it has always been separate. Alberta now wants to pull their portion out as well. The Federal Government has already announced that they will ignore Court rulings on asset division.
