Oh my goodness, Spunkster!

You’ve outdone yourself. Again.

I will never think of exit or norsky the same way again.

So funny. What a great sendoff to this b!tch of a year. We do, however, still have the great President Trump fighting for the world, and some good friends and fun here on the TFT!

Hope I don’t sleep the evening away tonight lol. What’s everyone having for eats? I know we’re doing a giant pot of mussels (barf) tomorrow. I’ll have to find something edible lol.

See y’all later!

Well, in the Gee I’m Surprised Department, I just saw this:

“Judge Loretta Preska however stayed her order which gives attorneys representing the “Does” time to convince the court to keep names under seal so it is unclear if the public will ever see the full Epstein client list.”

Now I think that perfume would match my personality! Or maybe cinnamon rolls. There was a bakery in a mall back in California that smelled like it vented the scents from the bakery into the mall. Very clever!

I had to sign up, give them my email address and then I got ads every day. But I was able to unsubscribe right away. Maybe that was it?

“To watch the full-length video, a dialog box popped open requesting payment... $4.00 for 2 months”

That is strange, I was able to watch it for about a half hour. It said it was 1 hour and 44 minutes long.

What a disappointment. We are always on the verge of justice and then it is snatched away.

I’m trying to figure out what to make for tonight. I’m trying to eat healthy now, might as well start one day early. I bought carrots and green beans today. They just don’t sound exciting.

I sure hope that the best is yet to come. I will never forget 2 AM after election day 2016. My joy was so powerful. I would love to have that happy feeling again.

Sneaking it in #1

New Years Resolutions/goals

It’s always nice to have goals. Being realistic is important. Many men and women get a Buddy to share goals n encourage each other.

5 Most Common New Year’s Resolutions
* Improved fitness (48%)
* Improved finances (38%)
* Improved mental health (36%)
* Lose weight (34%)
* Improved diet (32%)

Not just making a goal . But important to note a plan or time expectations

The ancient Babylonians are said to have been the first people to make New Year’s resolutions, some 4,000 years ago. They were also the first to hold recorded celebrations in honor of the new year—though for them the year began not in January but in mid-March, when the crops were planted. During a massive 12-day religious festival known as Akitu, the Babylonians crowned a new king or reaffirmed their loyalty to the reigning king. They also made promises to the gods to pay their debts and return any objects they had borrowed. These promises could be considered the forerunners of our New Year’s resolutions. If the Babylonians kept to their word, their (pagan) gods would bestow favor on them for the coming year. If not, they would fall out of the gods’ favor—a place no one wanted to be.

Do you have any goals/resolutions?

Sneaking it in #2

Some New Years traditions

- Jump 7 Waves. In Brazil, it’s considered good luck to start the new year by jumping over seven waves. You get one wish for each wave, so be ready with your list!
- Polar Bear Plunge. In northern CHILLY states a noon jump into lake or deep river. Just in n out. No theatrics. The tradition was started in Vancouver, Canada in 1920 by a group of swimmers who called themselves the Polar Bear Club. In the U.S., these events are usually held to raise money for charity.

- Traditional good luck food. Varies culture to culture. In US: pork, black eyed peas, cabbage, greens(sounds southern?)
- Mistletoe under pillow. The Irish believe that if you put a sprig of mistletoe, holly, or ivy under your pillow on New Year’s Eve, you’ll dream of your future love.
- Families in Ireland have a New Year’s tradition of banging loaves of Christmas bread against the walls and doors to ward off evil spirits and pave the way for a healthy and prosperous new year
- Colombians, who walk around the block carrying empty suitcases on New Year’s Eve to bring a year filled with travel.
- Hosting a party. New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day
- Fireworks and sparklers

Romanians believe that tossing a coin in the river on New Year’s Eve will provide good luck for the whole year.
- Watch the Times Square Drop

- Kiss your love at midnight

- Play and sing Auld Lang Syne
- Make noise as year changes. Your choice. Noise makers, bang a pan, play loudly fav music etc.
- A toast with your favorite champagne or drink to welcome new year

- Said to be bad luck to eat New Years Day: winged fowl (birds like turkey or chicken), bottom feeders (like shrimp or catfish), or any seafood that swims backward or side to side (like lobster or crab).
- Pioneer woman’s list of good luck foods for New Year’s Day: https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/meals-menus/g38331983/new-years-good-luck-foods/

Happy New Years Eve 2023

Happy New Year!

Jeff And I will be comfy at home and I no doubt asleep as the ball falls

Making appetizers to graze on: spring rolls; garlic parmesan potatoes; spinach/artichoke dip

Everyone -Are you Going anywhere tonight?

My fav venue in past years was Severance hall in Cleveland….University Circle.

Pretty sure most of FB friends haven’t been there or even heard of it

Severance is a magnificent structure that houses the World Class Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Pops orchestra. The lobby is huge and marbled and has two levels.

The event starts with 2 hour concert by Cleveland Pops. It is a fun…FUN… F-U-N concert with clever add in n guest performers

The Pops has their winter performances at Severance and for many years the Cleveland orchestra has Blossom as their Summer home and over years the pops had several Summer performances at Blossom. These are great for thousands who maybe can’t afford the prices at severance. There is a sheltered shell that seats 8000 and the lawn area seating 20000+. Can picnic before or during on lawn. The Fourth July weekend concert in past was phenomenal with tremendous firework display.

Back to NYE — after the fun filled and exceptional concert they have two bands upper and lower . Lower was rock with different invited local bands n upper mixed music by Pops ensemble .

Dress casual to formal. Most dressy/black tie~some jeans. I enjoyed dressing up. Often went with my good friend Paul who was a trained ballroom dancer. The lower level was basically the casual n upper level more dressed up n many skilled dancers on floor.

Fun to watch and fun to participate with someone who could do something on dance floor other than shuffle aimlessly😃

As I can’t post pix maybe you could check out pix at website

We’re finally getting a dumping of snow, so home is where it’s at. Safe and warm and snug and no travel worries. I’ve never been much for New Year celebrations anyway.....always thought it best to stay off the roads rather than share them with the drunks.

Think I’ll have a glass of wine shortly - and hopefully stay up for awhile lol. I’d do some dancing, but my pole that Spunky posted for me is in the shop for repairs. Actually, it’s in for counselling - it had a breakdown.
