It is my impression that the people who are leaving are the ones most impacted by the taxes here. It's not just income tax, it's property taxes, it's sales taxes, high business regulations.. While it is not clear if they are predominantly Republicans, one would thing that opposition to high taxes is a big part of their politics. The state is trying to replace them with 'asylum seekers' from God knows what foul smelling sh*thole.

The tax base is leaching away, while the leeches descend upon our state. (if I might turn a phrase). Not a good long term financial strategy.
