It is a very long term plan. It is not impossible.

The earth cannot support a trillion people, so it only makes sense to expand into space.

Might take a couple hundred years to get there.

With a trillion people, the idea of earth as a park, kind of like Yellowstone, makes sense.

This would be a "new earth and a new heaven", would it not?

How do you know if the Earth can't support more people? All the people currently on Earth can fit into a small area of any state in the USA. The problem is logistics of feeding and housing, and can be resolved over time. Unfortunately, we have a lot of idiots running things who are roadblocks to resolving problems.

As for Jeff Bezos, he is an idiot. Elon Musk has the right ideas. You can't stick lots of people into a cylindrical space station, they won't survive. Musk will be using humanoid robots to build the means of getting equipment to Mars and building underground habitats for humans. All his efforts point towards this. SpaceX to get massive items to Mars. Tesla power equipment, AI systems, electric vehicles, and humanoid robots. The Boring Company to tunnel into the Mars surface to create underground habitats and tunneling to reach underground water sources. NeuraLink to allow human interfacing to AI robotic machines where the machines do the dangerous work.

The radiation in outer space can easily kill humans. Earth shields humans. Mars, the Moon, and cylindrical space stations do not shield humans from radiation. You need to build under the surface to block the harmful effects of radiation. Only Musk is thinking ahead and putting together the pieces to gain success.
