Arizona's Democrat governor said Friday she is sending National Guard soldiers to areas around the U.S. border with Mexico, accusing President Joe Biden's government of "refusing to do its job" on migration.
Katie Hobbs, whose state is a key target for Republicans, last week took fellow Democrat Biden to task after a major crossing was closed, purportedly to allow officials to concentrate their resources on stemming illegal migration.
"Yet again, the federal government is refusing to do its job to secure our border and keep our communities safe," Hobbs said in her order Friday.
"With this Executive Order, I am taking action where the federal government won't.

Yet another Democrat leader complaining about their Democrat president.
Mayorkas always says the border is under control. Yet multiple Democrat leaders around the country, have talked about how they’re coping with huge numbers of illegal aliens.
It is significant to see Democrats publicly criticizing their own president. If Republicans criticize the Biden Administration on Border issues, they will be dismissed as being racist and xenophobic. But the media and other assorted liberal types cannot do the same when their own Democrats criticize Biden for the same thing.

Simply close the border—maybe the day after Christmas so that people going home for Christmas can stay there. Seal the border, no one crosses and anyone that tries gets ID’d and turned back. Put them on watch lists.

Three questions not addressed in the article:
1. How many Guard troops will be involved?
2. Will they be armed?
3. What are the rules of engagement?
I will take an educated guess, and say that Gov. Hobbs is just blowing smoke here. Maybe it’ll just be a handful of Guardsmen with binoculars. See something, call the already stretched-thin Border Patrol.
