I hate to say this, but I would tend to agree with him on this, to a point.
Realistically, there is no way the Senate will convict, so this is a dog and pony show with a guaranteed outcome.
Why waste time on this when there are important issues to deal with? The viewing numbers on any potential impeachment won’t even reach the numbers watching what they put President Trump through, so the optics angle doesn’t provide much in the way of “satisfaction”.
The presentation of evidence to the American people that will take place in an impeachment vote and a senate trial, are worth it in and of themselves. Besides, it’s simply the right thing to do. And the other “important issues they should be dealing with” still have to go through the same Democrat controlled Senate that will likely acquit in a Senate trial, so it’s not like there’s much of an opportunity cost to pursuing impeachment.

That is so very sad about you. You don’t believe having a compromised POTUS is an important issue to deal with.
As far as I’m concerned, you’re an enemy of the United States of America.
Impeachment hearings provide the viewers with a look at the evidence, especially Biden documents which cannot be refuted or explained away.
Put in the proper context, esp. A timeline, is the old adage, “A picture us worth a thousand words”.
Been there, done that, before Congress.
