It’s obviously an integral part of the black American culture. And that is NOT sarcasm or a joke.
I was attacked 4-on-1 by black men back in 1978 when I was in the US Navy, on the base.
Fortunately, the Petty Officer who supervised me, who is black, offered to get a bunch of guys together to go find them. I declined the offer, but it showed me what kind of guy he was.
For the next six months, I looked at the face of every black guy who passed me, but...I couldn’t place a face. But it never had any long term effects on race relations to me, because of AD1 Woods.

Yes, some things never change. When I was a teen in the 70s it was widely acknowledged that that a certain demographic hunted and attacked in packs, and you had better be prepared.
