Does anyone even have a landline anymore? Phone companies make it difficult to have a landline.
Above your post, ridethemiles stated he/she only has a landline. I too only have a landline. No cell service where I live. If one drives a mile away, to the top of a hill, you can get a signal. So yes, there are people that have landlines and no I've never had a phone company make it difficult.
I still have one. 99% of my junk calls go there. Nice not having them go to my cell.

Our major internet/phone/provider doesn’t install nor repair land lines. They pull the data/power down with a unit that sits on a desk and provides wifi to the rest of the house.
Installation is a real B$tch re getting on line and using their new star wars system.
This has resulted in delays in getting even back on with the new fiber systems.
If you have an old land line system, do your research before it dies or starts to die.
Hopefully, we will have some good threads addressing this issue facing most of us and our options.
