The basic plot is that a city girl goes back home to the country for Christmas and meets a rugged guy. They fall in love and the girl gives up her city job to stay in the country and they live happily ever after.
She hasn't watched that channel in a few years and now I think I know why.

The other common theme is for a tiny European country (where everybody speaks British English even though it’s up near Luxembourg) where either the prince or the king is lacking a relationship. A commoner American girl wanders into his life and he falls for her over the snooty Euro-noble he was supposed to marry.
