Unlike “Palestinians”, the Kurds are distinguished nation (20-45 millions) with their own language (related to Persian), culture and history.
It is thought that they are descendants of ancient Medes, history going back at least to 600 BC.

But, they just have bad luck.

The ancient Carduchi (Kardouchoi) may be the ancestors of the Kurds. They were in that area in 400 B.C. when Xenophon and the 10,000 Greek mercenaries (hired by Cyrus the Younger for his unsuccessful attempt to become king of Persia) marched through the area. See Xenophon's Anabasis.
