If you walk around Germany, these hostel-type units end up being where a town/city dumps drug addicts/mentally ill people.

After reading the whole basic story, it has a familiar ring to the 2021 Wurzburg attack (mentally ill Somali guy who stabbed three women dead in a department store). I should note in this episode...court (a year later) declared him permanently mentally ill and was sent off to a facility. Curiously, the police noted in records...various incidents prior to the attack where his mental competency was questioned.

I would imagine the Dublin cops also have a record of such on this Algerian-Irish guy, and probably don’t want to admit to the general public that they had chances to declare this guy unfit.
