Edmonton area? I’m up north and west.
My family own a farm in Alberta, but we live in B.C.
At some point my brother and I may move to Alberta. But so far S. Vancouver Island is still liveable.
Ten million in the last 50 years? That’s nothing! Don’t forget that according to Stats Canaduh, we’ve received OVER 1,000,000 ‘temporary’ (ya, right!) refugees from Ukraine and uneducated, non-English-spesking immigrants from third world sch!ttholes in JUST THE LAST YEAR!
“We all don’t support Ukraine though, you may want to take your support elsewhere.”
Way ahead of you on that. My church used to buy poppies from the Canadian Legion every November and that ended in 2016 when the Legion spewed a bunch of hate at Donald Trump.
People like you cuddling up to a Russian dictator when you already have one of your own? You’re just reminding me our money is better spent elsewhere.
Yes, but that is recent. It was 200K per year for many years.
then accelerated massively by Muldoon, no change with Harper and Poilievre talks about a housing crisis but doesn’t dare connect 250 K housing starts with one million new immigrants.
Canada has a third world invasion because of Conservative Party treason.
And True-dolt has multiplied the issue!
TUCK FRUDEAU!
Agreed.
However I have more hatred for supposed allies who are traitors, than enemies who act as expected.
Trudeau doesn't need that many troops. He could send in the mounties instead.
I left View Royal just after the plague hit. Now the ferries are wholly unreliable.
I’m glad I’m off that stinking rock.
Best weather in the country.
I was sitting beside the ocean, in the sun today. Only 8 degrees but it was still nice.
It would be a big problem for some, but I don’t want to travel anywhere, so I don’t care about the ferries.
I grew weary of the lack of seasonality. It was spring-ish, then sorta summer, then semi-autumn, then just not cold enough to do winter stuff, but too cool for anything else.
I’m happy you enjoy it, you can have my share of the insipid soul-sucking dreariness too.
I think Washington and Northern Oregon has the best weather on the continent. Not too hot during the summer and a lot of rain during the winter with not to much snow on the ground.
Give me a lottery win and I’ll move there.
What specifically is the problem with the B.C Ferries? I was a commuter long ago to and from UVic.
121°F in summer 2020 where I am in SE WA but I like it here. Wish it was a tad warmer right now. Very little rain here.
That sounds a tad warm, but Wikipedia says the mean high is around 80F.
I grew up in Vancouver (and in Cambridge, UK) so I’m used to dreary.
To me the South Vancouver Island rain shadow seems like Los Angeles.
My dentist in Ottawa was going to retire to Vancouver Island. They did a test visit and decided they didn’t like the lack of seasonality.
One of my bosses in Ottawa was out in Vancouver in the winter and he found the overcast so depressing he couldn’t wait to get back to the Ottawa snow.
So it is not everyone’s choice, but i will take it.
In a typical summer we get a couple of days around 108-109 -ish, a lot of days in the low 100s. But it’s a dry heat!
Mean high Jul-Aug 87-88.
There is a rain shadow that covers the SE part of Vancouver Island, the San Juan’s etc. Seattle is not part of it
Half the rain of Vancouver, B.C.
I don’t follow it closely, but since corona, BC Ferries have had constant problems getting enough crew to do the sailings.
