Texas Is the ‘Stickiest’ State in the U.S.
Texas, North Carolina and Georgia are estimated to be the “stickiest” states in the nation – meaning they have kept the highest shares of native residents from moving away, according to a recent analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.
Democrats are fleeing Texas? Yay for Texas!
Obviously these ahos haven’t been to Texas lately. They need to go and take a a look at what is going on north of Austin. Crap!
Gruesome doesn’t stand a chance. Tater Swuft and her football player boyfriend already has the RAT nomination locked up.
I’ve built hundreds of houses over 50 years and owned a couple thousand rental units at one time or another starting in 1971. My taxes back then (1971) were about 1.5%. You are paying about 2% which is what I pay also west of Austin.
With no income tax and fuel prices about half California prices we are still far better off. That said, I wish the California refugees WOULD go to a different state.
So it took her maybe 60 years to finally realize it's hot in Texas? Sounds like a Democrat.
Where I live, in Frisco, I think half of India has already moved here.
A “lifelong Texan” just discovered it gets hot in Texas in the summer?
I don’t see them doing a hit piece on NY which was once again voted the least free state in the nation. With extreme taxes all the way around.Extreme taxes to pay for Fed welfare to Rand Paul in Kentucky.
“ Yeah, people leaving Texas. Puhleeze, do yourselves a favor. Go on I35 and drive north from San Marcos to Waco.”
They’re scrambling to put a double decker on I 35 in San Antonio
They haven’t built new highway in NY since before I got out of there in 1990.
Pshaw. Ya people are leaving Texas. Where w
Are thy going? Back to California? Back to Mexico? Back to the Mideast?
That tells you something about the poster child they selected.
It becomes difficult when retired, but at least they freeze your taxes at 65. Gas prices and income tax aren’t a good deal when retired, but cost of taxes and groceries affect retirees more.
While some homebuyers seek the American dream in Texas, many are leaving..
that’s how i read that article and what i was seeing on reddit.
No too many specifics about which city from where they are leaving.
The best thing that Californians ever did was pass Prop 13 in 1978 which limited RE taxes to 1% of what you paid for the house and stayed that way (with some minor increases over the years) as long as you owned the house.
Also your house doesn’t get reappraised each year, there is a small yearly increment, but it’s nowhere near the market price.
That it still remains fairly intact in California is nothing short of a miracle.
On the down side we have a top rate income tax of 13%, which negates much of the RE tax benefit.
except...
the whole title is a lie, people are not leaving Texas, they are flocking to it in droves. In fact at the current rate Texas will have 3 of the biggest cities in the US by 2100 according to demographers.
This whole article is a lie attempting to create a reality the left wishes existed.
Guess you have to move to Chicago.
we pay higher property taxes here because we pay ZERO income taxes.
