Here is what the committee said: “ Congressional investigators say researchers at the lab “had the ability to genetically modify coronaviruses as early as 2016 without leaving any trace of that modification.”

You use that term, but I do not think you understand what it means.
Here was the original excerpt from the Daily Mail article that I was refuting: "The furin has been one of the focal points of debate about Covid-19's origin, with some experts claiming it could only have been acquired through lab experiments."
And here is my refutation, addressing exactly that claim: A furin cleavage site is actually present in a LOT of coronaviruses. How does the presence of a natural genetic element of many coronaviruses "prove" laboratory manipulation of a coronavirus? It doesn't.
Just in case you do not understand that I was, in fact, addressing the Daily Mail article directly and not making up some straw man, let me explain. If someone says that all swans are white, and someone else provides evidence of a black swan, then it shows that the first person was wrong. In this case, the unidentified "experts" claimed that a furin cleavage site could only be present as a result of laboratory manipulation, and I provided evidence that furin cleaving sites are common in coronaviruses. Therefore, laboratory manipulation is NOT the only way for furin cleavage sites to appear.
Now, as for my editorial comment in that reply #12. How can you believe that SARS-CoV-2 was created in a Chinese lab to be a bioweapon and simultaneously believe that Covid-19 is no more serious than any other cold? Are you really incapable of seeing the contradiction?
A bioweapon is something that is designed to cause high casualties, including deaths. If SARS-CoV-2 is no more serious than any other cold, then how can it be an engineered bioweapon?
And if you think a harmless virus was unleashed on the world so that elitists could use it as an excuse for world domination, then why didn't they use the first coronavirus discovered for that purpose? Or the second? Or the third? Or influenza viruses, rhinoviruses, or adenoviruses that also are highly contagious? Why didn't they use MERS, which has a significantly higher fatality rate than Covid, as an excuse to impose world domination?
The problem with conspiracies is that they fall apart under logical analysis.
The lab leak story was never a theory. It was never even a hypothesis. It was a conspiracy story from the get-go.
Don’t you get tired of trying to “defend” this evil action of those you just described? In your own description of what needed to take place, has the answer to your attempt at discrediting this whole event:

Don’t you even read what you write? Your scenario is what took place. I know you like to think that scientists are beyond reproach, but they are all human and subject to being influenced one way or another. (I am not saying all, so don’t even go there-and please change your name-there is not truth to it, unless you are saying you are still a dem but an ex mom).

Feel free to do the genetic analysis yourself and post here the results showing clearly that SARS-CoV-2 was bioengineered and that it bears no resemblance to other coronaviruses. Show the evidence that it contains sequences it could not possibly have naturally. If you are going to call me a liar, prove it.

That’s all well and good, BUT...
A naturally occuring virus would have had numerous outbreaks with each outbreak increasing in size long before becoming a global pandemic.
Since I looked up this to show I wasn’t making things up I thought I would share with everyone.
