One of the bigger problems with the hostage agreement is that there is no guarantee that hamas won't keep taking more and more hostages simply to have a trade for getting more terrorists out of jail.

Yup. Hostages just become a commodity to them, and getting a truce or exchange will mean more hostages taken in the future.
