Our little S-corp was peaking at about age 65, so we could afford to wait til age 70, which is paying off comfortably now.
I now await some sort of crash.

I did a calculation and decided to start at 67 instead of waiting. Long story short, I decided that if I collect the smaller amount for about 7-10 years, I come out ahead of collecting the larger amount but waiting until 70. After that, I regret starting sooner.
And as you alluded to, who knows if SS will survive the Great Reset.
