I have visited Jordan a number of times and did some business there back in the 80's. Amman (the Roman settlement of Philadelphia) was always a very quiet and pleasant city. Almost everyone I met and knew there identified themselves as Palestinian.

One exception was a Lebanese Christian businessman who had left his homeland after his Muslim neighbors, with whom he'd grown up, massacred the Christians in his village. The Lebanese "Civil" War.

The true natives of Jordan are the Bedouin. And they are a small minority in their own country.

Hussein did not take kindly to a Palestinian murdering his grandfather.
