My wife and daughter are Saint Mary’s women. It used to be a wonderful school and my daughter got a terrific education there (she majored in business administration). The nuns no longer run it; a lay board of trustees and some very liberal women now control the school.

There are a decent number of Holy Cross nuns on the school property, but they are in a retirement home on campus. I’ve suspected that when the bulk of them die off Notre Dame will try to merge the two schools, which they were unable to do in the early 1970s when the nuns still ran Saint Mary’s. This move could well destroy the college, particularly if one of the trans individuals sexually molests one or more fellow students. Uncatholic and heartbreaking!

They will just expand the ND campus across the highway. ND has expanded greatly south of campus since I left there 35 years ago.
