If we accept that after 8 years of relative peace and prosperity, the sitting VP usually wins, then it is reasonable to assume that Nixon was cheated out of the presidency in 1960, and Gore was cheated in 2000. I’m still suspicious of the notion that W won Florida by cheating. On the other hand, that could explain his fondness for illegal aliens and Mexico’s foreign policy (invasion), if his election was pre-ordained, meaning he need not listen to his base.
