I am ignorant about who controls the GOP state party apparatus, and the donations in Louisiana.
I seem to remember that after the 2020 presidential election was stolen in Georgia the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, and Attorney General were all Republicans. Fat lot of good it did.
Can any Freeper comment on what we can expect from this new crew in Louisiana?
Yes Trump endorsed Bill Cassidy for reelection. And two months after getting safely reelected for six more years, he voted to convict Trump.
He wouldn’t have done that if he were up for reelection in 2022. Murkowski was, but they fixed the game in 2020 to move to ranked choice voting to protect her.
As to who will defeat Cassidy - literally anybody else. If he survives a primary, he’ll lose the runoff.
But guaranteed, he’ll announce his retirement before then. He’s done.
