It's the leftist college professor privilege at work.In 2017 at a Berkeley campus "free speech" rally, 28-year-old Diablo Valley College (Pleasant Hill) ethics professor Eric Clanton beat a conservative attendee over the head with a bicycle lock.

In 2018, just before his preliminary hearing, Clanton was allowed to plead "no contest" to one misdemeanor charge battery charge. The felony charges against him were dismissed, and an allegation that he had caused serious bodily injury was stricken. Clanton was given three years of probation.
From Berkleyside: Eric Clanton takes 3-year probation deal in Berkeley rally bike lock assault case:
Police said, previously, that Clanton attacked at least three people with a metal U-lock during the April 15 rally in and around Civic Center Park. Court papers later revealed that Clanton struck at least seven people in the head, according to authorities. One person received a head laceration that required five staples to fix. Another was uninjured but had a piece of a helmet broken off. A third was struck across the neck and back, police wrote.-PJ
Thanks for the post. I had forgotten the name of the local leftist professor (assistant professor, or lecturer) who skated after using a deadly weapon while viciously assaulting conservative protesters. Eric Clanton.
Another example of a two-sided justice system.
I remember that case. Had the situation been reversed, the conser6would still been sitting in prison
