Read it more carefully. It says that more than half have “more sympathy” for Palis than before. I personally have more sympathy for the Palis unwillingly used as human shields by Hamas. Not mush more because a lot of them are willing participants.

The change is the result of generations of indoctrination from elementary school on. It was done slowly, quietly, and secretly. The few that tried to sound the alarm were ridiculed and mocked.
Open rebellion started in the late sixties with the anti-war movement and the takeover of our universities thorough the seventies all under the color of law as practiced by the SCOTUS with the tacit approval of the executive branch. The resultant malignancy is now on display but it was a long time coming.

Schools are specifically teaching youth not to hate Jews. Holocaust education is mandatory many states. Anne Frank's Diary and Night have been required reading in most school systems for decades. It was so when I attended Catholic schools in the 1970s. The former was assigned in grammar school, the latter in high school.
Any hatred of Israel and of Jews is an unintended consequence of teaching youth to hate whites and colonialism. Youth were supposed to see Jews as among the oppressed. It was never anticipated that (mostly Third World) youths would see Jews as white colonialists.
