Thank you for the insight. I’m considering moving from Austin to the North End or Charleston.
The North End of Boston is by far the safest neighborhood in Boston. That is because it is still controlled by the Italian Mafia. So you are always safe walking around any time day or night. It is by far the safest place for a single woman to live in the city. They protect their neighborhood.
A young guy I work worth bought a condo in Charlestown about a year or so ago. He likes living there. He is in his late 20s. The only issue is that it borders Chelsea & Everett across the Mystic River.
The Seaport district is where all the newest high rise condo buildings are located. I think it is very expensive. This was a major urban renewal project after the Big Dig was finished making the area easy access to the financial district.
I have always liked the Back Bay section of Boston. The only issues can be that there are a lot of college students living there. So you might be living next door, above or below five BU/BC/Northeastern students all sharing an apartment.
Beacon Hill is very expensive. Maybe you could live next door to John Kerry.
The western suburbs are all very nice. Especially Brookline, Newton, Wellesley, Arlington, Lexington, Concord, Waltham & Weston. Pretty much anywhere along Route 2 into the Nashoba Valley are nice places to live except Fitchburg.
To the north along the Atlantic the nicest suburbs are Beverly, Marblehead, and Manchester by the Sea. Farther north Rockport, Essex, Ipswich Rowley, Topsfield and Newburyport are all beautiful towns to live in.
https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ ... a useful site with school info, which indicates a lot about the quality of a community imo. We homeschooled but most don’t/won’t.
