RNC warns candidates that attending Iowa Christian group’s forum will disqualify them from debates

The Republican National Committee has warned some of the 2024 GOP presidential candidates about attending an Iowa Christian organization’s Thanksgiving forum, saying it would disqualify them from participating in future RNC presidential debates.

Five candidates – former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott – were invited to the Family Leader’s “Thanksgiving Family Forum” on November 17.

“It has come to the attention of the RNC Counsel’s Office that several Republican presidential candidates have been invited to participate in an open-press event in Iowa in November at which they would ‘gather around the table to have a moderated, friendly, and open discussion about the issues.’ In other words, a debate,” the RNC counsel’s office said in a letter obtained by CNN.

“Accordingly, please be advised that any Republican presidential candidate who participates in this or other similar events will be deemed to have violated this pledge and will be disqualified from taking part in any future RNC-sanctioned presidential primary debates,” the office said.

In its letter, dated October 28, the office reminded the candidates that they had agreed not to participate in any non-RNC-sanctioned debates during the campaign.

Ronna Romney's dictatorial minions issuing warnings.

Watch for the pantywaist types to go along with it.

Just more proof that politics in America isn’t real it’s just entrainment that’s not very entertaining.

She needs to go; its a problem I have with Trump in picking people and not saying “You’re fired” when they continually fail upwards. A total disaster who is not prepping for next year’s election which will be a titanic battle.

I hope the IDF finds the tunnel complex that must link the RNC with the DNC.

Sounds like a good way to separate those who will serve the people and those who will serve the deep state.

What would the RNC do if everyone except, say, Chris Cristie goes?

Have the Pillsbury dough boy debate himself?

A discussion is not a debate. They should all go and let us hear them just talk.

She should be fired. All of candidates should tell the cowards in the RNC to go pound sand. No debates? Fine.

F the RNC. They don’t want people to talk outside their control.

Their pledge isn’t worth squat.

This is because Ronna isn’t trying to win over actual voters, just curry favor with the liberal media.

Ronna is slowly, but surely weakening the Republican Party. There was a great win in 2016, but her entire record other than that has been failure. She must go! !!

What about the pending DeSantis/Newscum 'debate'? Has Ron been 'lettered' from the RNC? Is that RNC sanctioned?

I guess DJT is the only one that can attend this Iowa event since he has no intent on being at any RNC 'debate'.

Republicans need to realize that their main goal is to gain approval of the democrats

Trump just doesn’t get it. Ok he’s polling better than all of them combined but he just doesn’t get it. He’s not playing right

So is the RNC having a problem with "Christian organization’s Thanksgiving forum", or just the candidates getting together at all? Seems like a reasonable discussion among the candidates would not look like the debates the RNC has been sponsoring.

Maybe the RNC can hook up with the Thailand-based group that is running the Miss Universe pageant to put together some alternative programming. Except that many of the MU contestants in the new specialty contests will mostly be democrats, just like the debate moderators.

Why would any political group trying to get their candidates to win a subsequent election insist on tying them down from any encounter that would benefit them and the voters?

Good opportunity for that Ramzgandusruki guy to show as Ms. Rona says she is not going to give him any more money anyway.

Well, how very communist of them.

Never have been a member of a political tribe, never will be.

Don’t vote for people who don’t earn your vote just because they in the “right” tribe.

Exactly. Really, that Trump supported her is cause for serious concern. He still seems incapable of selecting good people, outside of random luck. Ronna Romney-McDaniels is an utter disaster. A complete swamp pick who’s only job appears to be to protect Mitch McConnell’s uni-party, RINOs at all cost. Hard to imagine anyone worse. Seriously.

There was a great win in 2016

Because that wasn’t her!

Prince Reibus was still RNC chair in 2016.

Ronna is a complete and total LOSER!
