The incompetent idiotic so-called 'doctor' nearly killed me.
I am a type 2 diabetic, and I am now meeting with prospective new
endocrinologists. No, I have not found a new one who is satisfactory yet.
So just follow the advice of your dingbat doktor until you pass out and collapse on the floor.
No - just kidding. I do NOT reccomend that course of action - not at ALL.
On the contrary - question everything these fools say.
Do your OWN research. And good luck.
Most important pay attention to what your body is telling you. First line of defense is take care of yourself because nobody else is going to.
Insulin is scary in the wrong hands.
I barely recall my grandmother, who died from going into a coma with no one there to administer orange juice.
I have an 11 year old who was diagnosed as type one just after turning 6. She has a pump, but is far too confident and at times sloppy.
On one occasion she accidentally triple-dosed herself for a snack she had helped herself to (and over-estimated the carb value). By the grace of God I noted that she was plunging quickly and the pump tipped me off to the obscene amount of insulin on board (for a 9 year old). I quickly got a ton of grape juice into her, and it all worked well, but I owe her guardian angle big time.
Learn how to use your blood sugar test kit, and how to read it. Learn how to managè the starches in your diet, when to snack, when not to and how much. Eliminating starches in your diet can cause you not to have to use insulin or have to use very little.
